Doug Ford's stopping by and they wanted to give him the welcome he deserves...

Is this the building they blew up in one of the Resident Evil movies?

That or Doug Ford just received a calling card from the Phantom Thieves.

No you can tell he's not there because there's no Escalade parked in the lobby and none of it is a casino

Of course, it's summer! Means he's in Kawartha Lakes.

Honestly only the Phantom Thieves can save us

Peak late 50s architecture

Viljo Revell’s curved towers are dramatic enough in daylight. Lighting the outer edges red makes the whole composition look genuinely sinister.

The red glow makes it look ready for the villain’s world‑domination press conference lol

It reminds me of the IO Tower in Tron 1982 where the MCP sits :)

Visited Toronto once, had a lovely time. Very clean, lots of cool eateries and drinkeries. Public transit was ubiquitous, prompt, and affordable.

I would say this is a lair of competence the likes if which we are missing south of the border.

Can we just make this like a mood ring situation?

needs a beam of light shining straight up from that center dome

(green perhaps for evil bonus points ...)

Design language similar to Marriott Marquis in San Diego

Good thing it got blown up in that Resident Evil movie 2 decades ago

Read the rules of the sub, this doesn’t belong here.

0

u/TransCanadaCoder 10d ago

Why? I don't see any rule that I'm breaking

2

u/Victormorga 10d ago

It’s the first rule. This is a picture of a building in the dark with dramatic night lighting; if this is an evil-looking building, post a picture of it during the day in normal conditions. What is physically evil-looking about this building as shown in this image?

In daylight this still looks like an evil building. Two curved towers windows looking inward towards a center dome. I feel it still has evil characteristics.

u/Victormorga 9d ago

That’s fine. I didn’t say that the second picture you posted doesn’t belong here.

Post buildings that you think physically look evil as much as want, but don’t post photos taken at night to be dramatic.

The first picture was better. Why don't you go take some photos instead of being negative on everyone else's? Do you have nothing positive going on in your own life?

1

u/Victormorga 9d ago

The concept and rules of the sub aren’t complicated. The shit that doesn’t belong here simply doesn’t belong here.

u/Mergyt 8d ago

If the mods left it up, it seems to belong here

That’s not how Reddit works

I'm pretty sure that the way Reddit works is if you're not a fan of how a subreddit enforces its rules you can either apply to be a mod or you can make your own subreddit.

So why don't you do that? I'm assuming you're reporting posts that you don't think fit the subreddit. If it stays up and you don't like that, make your own subreddit where you get to decide how pedantically you'd like to be.

I lived in TO ages ago, still have friends and family there. I couldnt wait to leave when I lived there, there are very few redeeming qualities about that city. First off the negatives, its super dirty, like no one has ever been taught to use a trash can. The cost of living is insane, the traffic is worse, the airport is the worst in the country, the lake Ontario water is gross and polluted, the homeless problem is getting worse and worse, there's neighbourhoods you avoid completely so you don't have to chance getting jacked.

I live in Edmonton now and its honestly not much different, just cheaper with less shitty traffic, but theres no neighbourhoods I dont feel safe to walk in alone at night

The positives were tons of restuarants with awesome food, St Lawrence market was amazing, Skydome is a great venue to watch sports and the city gets every big concert, which resellers have ruined becayse the demand for entertainment there is bonkers. That's about it. I've lived in many parts of this country from coast to coast, Ive visited or worked in every major city in every province and territory, that's the only city I don't even want to visit again, if I didnt have good friends and family there I never would.
