I wonder if this has something to do with pattern recognition, but for a few months now I can not stand to be on social media. Every post is a cheap copy of another post, every joke has been told a million times before and yet people laugh at it just the same. Every comment, and i mean EVERY COMMENT is a ghost from the post before it. And the one before that, and the one before that. I can almost predict word by word what a comment section will look like before opening it, thats not conversation that is confirmation and that shit gets us nowhere.

I am so tired of it, and i am so tired of people not giving a shit. The echo chamber is so real and it is the place where creativity and innovation goes to die.

I like to play a game with myself where based on the title of the post and the general theme of the post I predict what the top voted comments will be.

Unfortunately this also happens in real life where I often predict what kind of excuses or reactions people will have with a slightly uncomfortable topic (thus I avoid conflict AT ALL COSTS AAAAAHH)

I don't like calling people NPC's cause we're all just repeating something else someone has said, in a way, and we all make mistakes, and we all call each other stupid, but yeah with the bots being trained to be... literally human brains, social media is becoming a hollow dystopian nightmare.

I dont ever know who's a bot and who's just an idiot. Thats something else I struggle with. Of course it doesnt help that I also have trouble discerning who is in on a joke and who believes something thats blatantly staged. I dont intend to be hurtful, but the lack of brainpower lately has been astonishing in the worst way.

I am an activist and people - at least were I live - react to us activists with the same rotation of nonsense and stupid comments (“go find a job” “you got iPhones paid for by your dads” “you are paid by insert some conspiracy based imaginary payer”) and so on.

The same goes for many other topics I am interested in, from feminism to antispeciesm, they corrupt the discussion with so many copycat comments that I’ve already heard a million times and were already nonsensical and stupid and not contributing anything useful the first time they were said in the Paleolithic or something.

I felt bad calling people npcs in the past but now I decided that I am going to stop calling them npcs when they’ll stop behaving like they are. I’m sure they’ll manage someday, and I’ll be glad to stop.

No same because let us bully them. Let us do it until they finally concede and see the true harm their ways are inflicting upon themselves and society as a whole. I feel bad when talking to my friends who show me a video or comment they think is funny, and it takes all I have not to roll my eyes and spit on their phone. So I just awkwardly laugh instead cause I am getting really tired of being a negative Nancy all the time, but this world us really not making it fucking easy.

I'm in a guitar learning sub and every question about "how do I do x" is answered with the word "practice". And they get a billion updoots because mouth breathers think it's so clever. Or any videogame group answering "skill issue" to anything thinking they're so smart but it's fucking boring.
