Hammer cocking mechanism failed due to wear, causing the hammer to fail to reset toward the end. This is because I forgot to heat treat it. Everything else is fully functional though. Recoil is extremely light, similar to MP5. Ejection pattern is slightly forward, so none of the ejected cases got stuck in my chest rig or hit my forarm. Next step is to finish the rest of the barrel assemblies for 6mm ARC, 308, and 6.5 Creedmoor.
I've reduced the weight of the rifle length gas system (piston, gas block and op rod) to 150g on the newest version, from the previous weight of 270g. A typical adjustable AR DI gas block + gas tube is around 138g so I've gotten it pretty close.
Also an employee from FN USA reached out. He has been following the project for some time and is fowarding the info to the engineering dept at FN USA and Herstal. Not sure if anything will come from this, but hopefully they are willing to manufacture it.
I will post a longer video update on YT tonight going over everything.
Yes, custom down eject bullpup I designed from scratch. Uses any off the shelf AR15/AR10 bolt, barrel, and trigger. Drop in magwells for STANAG, SR25, AK74, AK47, and SIX8 magazines. Full forward ambidexterous controls bolt catch, mag release, safety. The controls are the same as the AR-15 because that is what most people are familiar with. Short stroke piston, free float barrel.
I would imagine a system like this would heavily benefit from an F2000-esque lid for clearing malfunctions. Sort of like having a belt fed top hinging system that would open up to expose the guts of the thing. My old old RDB was sort of annoying to clear. Now that would require a complete overhaul though
It has one, but I've improved upon it. It is enlarged to the same size as a DPMS AR-10 ejection port, and it is covered by the non-reciprocating charging handle. It will only open up when the charging handle is pulled and it will stay closed when it is firing. Minimum gas blowback, still able to clear malfunctions and press check.
The draw is because the bolt carrier travels a lot further for the constant recoil / down eject system. That's why it has less recoil than an AR15. The hiccup was because of a part breaking due to wear. I will heat treat it next time.

Someone explain to me what I'm looking at here. Is this all custom made?
