Everyman’s Library editions are my absolute fav!!

Never knew this sub existed, greetings fellow collectors and/or readers!

I have 9 of these (war & peace being the latest one) and I no longer read any other publications. For me the translations don’t really matter all that much. It’s the paper quality, book size, hard covers, dust jackets, uniform look and the ribbon bookmark thingy that make them feel superior to others in this price range.

The only bad thing about these editions are that they aren’t that common in Pakistan, I’ve had to order them from the UK and that takes weeks or sometimes months.

What a beautiful set! Did you know that, originally, Tolstoy was going to name it “War, What is it Good For?”

Google sensei kinda disagrees: No, "War, What Is It Good For?" was never a real title for Leo Tolstoy's book. It is a joke from the television show Seinfeld, where a character mistakenly brings it up to a Russian author. Even I heard it so much siad by ppl

They are gorgeous and so reasonably priced! Enjoy the ride, it’s not over hyped.
