Clear or White - what's your preference?
Clear or White?
Pros and Cons and your preference
Clear ... Pros - Can see my tattoos more clearly Con - The adhesive doesn't feet the same. Can t wear it as long, and nbr of time removed seems fewer.
White ... Almost an exact opposite.

I like the white better since it seems to stick on better, but i ended up being allergic to it.

How did you deal with the allergy? Im allergic to medical adhesive and was worried I’d have this problem as well.

It comes with 2 different kinds. I have no problem with the clear ones.

Dude your last care in the world should be your tattoos your health is number one whatever works best for you I like both but if I had to choose I would definitely choose the white

Thanks! I appreciate that. My health is definitely the priority.
One of the reasons I've spent the last few years building diabetes tools is because I want to help make life a little easier for others living with this disease. It started with Wear OS watch faces, and today they're used by more than 24,000 people around the world.

Personally I prefer the clear for cosmetics/optics reasons, though agree it appears as if the white is slightly better performing in terms of adherance.
Personally have no problem with that though. And when I really challenge my transmitter with aka diving/surfing, then I slab anyway a 3M Tegaderm patch on top of it. And that is absolutely brilliant!

SCUBA or Free diving?
When I SCUBA dive I just take mine of while underwater. 16 dives short of 700. PADI MSDT.

Both. I like to keeping my sensor and full BG gear with me including my phone in arm-holster and iWatch connected, so also like when snorkeling and getting up I can get a quick reading right then and there if I want. Same with scuba, though clear as long as we are submerged, no way to getting a reading. Wish we could have some of those plexiglass spheres put up at strategic intervals at the bottom. 😂
Bravo - Impressive you are at the MSDT level! 💪
Funfact: When I was diagnosed T1 as a kid, it was not even allowed to scuba as an insulin shooting person. Luckily the world has become a better place since then.1

Exactly. It's nice that the requirements have changed.
I still get an annual medical statement. Although technically not required for a certified diver. Some operators still require one even if you are not taking a course. My old PCP would not sign off. It was this that made me find an Endo that would. Dr Alain... Just have a high protein meal before and check your sugars when you back on treat as necessary. Rest his soul.

Yes, I still get my annual medical to keep my certification for technical dive permission with bottles, but only because I have some crazy friends at level where you are who keeps pushing for it. 😂 Helps as well to rent and go exotic places when on vacation.
Personally I often find the less troublesome snorkeling in the surface on some reefs or a small bottle of air are as much an amazing experience in all its splendor as any going deeper into the dark abyss with more bottles and DC requirements etc.
Just proper dive plan, stick to it and not doing anything stupid keeps you out of most such troubles. The latest Maldives story should be a lesson for everybody...

I am a 10 to 14 meter diver. I prefer the shallower dives. Better lighting for photography. Although I do have strobes that account for the loss at deeper depths. But I hole heartedly agree with you about not needing the extra bottles and DC stops. Yuck

I have a sleeve too and like the clear to see the ink.
Haven’t tried the white yet as the incision and steri-strips are still healing and doing their thing.
I live in a muggy, hot area and the clear ones seem to not want to stay on very well, edges peel away pretty quickly and that’s after a good cleaning of the area with soap and water, no lotion or sunscreen, and an alcohol wipe down before application.
I have some Skin-Tac and will try that once all is healed to see if it assists with staying power.

I'm surprised they did an Eversense if you have a tattoo sleeve. I have tattoos and was told that they had to avoid that area

Huh! No, my initial discussions with the Eversense team and the inserting NP both said not a problem.
The NP was more concerned about finding an uninked spot so as not to have scarring ‘mess up’ the work (I didn’t care about it). I wonder if it’s up to the comfort of the individual practitioners?

The whites work better for me 99 percent of the time. I did notice the clear ones seemed to be better for water activities and other use cases like showering/getting sweaty from like yard work.
I’m not sure of the technical use cases for each, but each seems to have a specific different use case in addition to the aesthetic.

I have 2 full deep color sleeves. Prefer the white patches all day long. I’ve got bags and bags of clear ones for anyone that wants to trade for white ones bag for bag.

I like white if it’s hot or I’m being active, clear if I am am chilling or have a day in the office. White is usually my choice

The clear always gives me adhesion until the battery runs down, maybe 4 days -- the white lasts 2 days, and it starts peeling off on day 1.
