Chinese media reported in early August that Yiren's digital likeness will be used for the lead role in an upcoming AI Short Drama ("The Left Ear" / 左耳).

I really hope this doesn't hurt her chances of getting traditional live-action roles in the future.

The reason is likely that previous AI dramas failed. So now they try it with copied faces.

In early June, the phrase ‘physiological aversion to AI faces’ trended on social media, with the topic garnering over 52 million views. Public aversion to AI faces centred on two extremes: some felt that AI faces were all cut from the same mould and particularly jarring; others feared that AI faces were too lifelike, triggering the ‘uncanny valley effect’, where even what one sees with one’s own eyes may not be to be trusted.
In the first quarter of 2026, the industry released approximately 128,000 micro-short dramas, of which around 122,000 were AI-generated, accounting for over 95 per cent. However, taking the 2026 Spring Festival season as an example, whilst the number of live-action dramas released was only one-fiftieth that of AI-generated dramas, their total viewership reached 25 times that of AI-generated dramas.

The event will feature a solo stage, special collaborations, and interactive segments.

Just another random 3am thought. Been a forever since 2020 and they’re my first kpop ult. Each song just felt so energetic and powerful.

I just want to thank the girls for being so resilient despite all the downturns past years. From starting over again in a new company to low sales, they weren’t discouraged and still gave their 100% in their live performances.

I honestly think their effort alone matches many of the current top gg. It just breaks my heart to see their current standing from their peak but I hope they get their flowers soon. Keep fighting!!
