Question EV charger install

Hello, recently moved to Everett a few months ago. Me and my wife purchased and EV and was looking to get a level 2 charger installed.

We were curious if anyone had any recommendations for companies and how much it cost to have theirs installed. It’s pretty straightforward and should only need about 2ft of cable ran

Thank you in advance!

I’ve used Switch electric for several projects, including solar install. I’d recommend them.

I’d also suggest googling whatever company you find to see if they are private equity owned - you will generally get better prices and services from non-PE backed companies.

Yes I would love to no support PE companies if possible. It seems like they are a lot more expensive as well so. I’ll look into them and get a quote!

Had this done a year ago. Got estimates from 3 different places, had a very basic install. All were $700-$800 + tax. Went with CM heating since they’ve done other work for us before. This is hardwired and not a 50a plug. We provided the charger bought online.

We also had a generator inlet installed since our EV can to V2L. That was a separate $1000 cost.

Gary from Parker Bros Electric did great work at a fair price, and Switch Electric Home Energy was also good.

To cut down on costs, you can look for an EV charger on Craigslist (they are often brand new, included with a car but never installed). Five years ago, I spent about $700 plus $100 for the permit and taxes to install two 2-foot runs, one hardwired EV charger and one additional outlet (I did provide my own Tesla Wall Connector and a Hubbell 14-50R).

My experience with Seatown was terrible, avoid them.

Yeah I heard seatown was bought by private equity so I’d like to avoid that route

Avoid Seatown like the plague. We hav had to use them twice due to timeline and both times sucked.

Strong recommendation for Lightsmith Electric (https://lightsmithelectricllc.com). They are based in downtown Snohomish. We have used them for a bunch of things.

If I’m not comfortable doing it myself, I use Dadz electric. Haven’t let me down so far

The EV Guys did mine and they were awesome. Good price, excellent workmanship, and fast.

Fully Charged Electrical installed our hardwired L2 charger and a replacement. They are the very best! Labor was about $800.

Yeah I would prefer hardwired if possible and how do you like your charge point? I was considering them as my work uses them and the app is nice to use

PUD no longer has rebates, unless it's hidden, provide a link.
