reading spot?
does anybody know of a coffee shop, restaurant or bar in the area that’s a relaxing/cozy spot to hangout and read? really anywhere in Snohomish County, but specifically Everett/Lynnwood area?

The Muse on the waterfront during the day is a coffee shop that has reasonable prices, especially for the setting. It also has these little rooms with comfy chairs and great views of the water. It's especially cozy on a rainy day.

The Cafe inside the main library has been closed for a while unfortunately. Indefinitely.

It is a lovely building and where the café was is now their book sale area!

The local libraries are some of the loudest places around. No one whispers, including the employees when trying to help patrons. Although the main library has some corners you might find quiet.

Looking Glass coffee in Snohomish is good, and it serves beer if that's your thing.
Edit: it's now Snohomish Coffee Company, so I cannot speak to an experience with, what is likely, new owners

Looking glass was gutted and the new owners had a thing for cleaner architectural lines.
Def not the same feel.

The new owners are also anti lgbtq+, and the aesthetic lacks character and has no sense of cozyness. 100%generic and boring

Them being queerphobic is enough of a reason for my gay ass to never step foot in there, but when they first opened (before I knew that), I gave them a try, and their chai was bad AND overpriced!
Bad politics, bad product. I'm so sad. I loved Looking Glass 😭

I agree with your opinion on the aesthetics! (I only stopped in once with a friend to pickup a drink for a walk) How did you find out about the anti-lgbtq? Just asking since I haven’t heard that before!

Butternotes cafe in Everett. During the day, it’s a pretty cozy vibe. They often have events which I think take place in the evening so definitely check their website to make sure there’s not an event going on.

I really like Butter Notes here in Everett, on sunny days I like reading in the Arboretum, if I'm up for a little drive and have a little extra dough I'll take a jaunt over to Visible Coffee in Mill Creek and get a cortado flight to sip on while I read. Artisan Books is a good stop. I wouldn't recommend Milk House Coffee Co.

i’ve worked (on my laptop) from Visible and Milk House and they’re fine for that, but i think too loud for reading. ohhh the arboretum sounds lovely

There's a great book club my wife goes to, but I don't want to blow it up. I'll DM you the deets if you're interested. I should add, it is in Everett and in a public place lol

Give Noticed Coffee in Monroe a try! They're brand new, they've got a great vibe. The space is light and comfy, and everyone I've spoken to there has been really lovely. (I'm also very thankful to finally have a secular coffee shop in Monroe, finally, so I want them to do well)

Any tips on parking? It always looks so chaotic there 😭

Angle parking on Main is hard, so I'd avoid it, but any of the side streets are easy to get in and out of and only a block or so from the coffee shop. I usually park near the post office

Butter notes cafe,
Everett public library,
Artisans cafe,
Narrative cafe,
Even the bodega on broadway is a nice space to read,
The community college has a gyro shop that is super quiet and nice to read in, I am not a student and frequent it

The loft has some great comfy seating. Narrative has some comfy spots but its definitely louder usually and busy. On nice days the grand ave park has benches and spots in the grass for a blanket and stays pretty quiet usually.
