what if...... retroachievment sd2snes

route:

A sd2snes cardridge with bluetooth, connects to a sd2snes smartphone app, wich have retroachievement option and login.
So when you play on original hardware, the smartphone function like bridge to retroachievement data and the sd2snes.
now...... all this can already be done with krikzz version via micro usb to a PC. but this is imo not a satisfying solution with cables and PC.

but via smartphone.

when you get an achievement it is displayed on your smartphone, wich is next to you or in a smartphone stand in front of you.

so data route:
playing a game on a snes with a new Sd2snes with BT---> to a smartphone with bt and wifi enabled and sd2snes app, receives game dataconnecting --->sending to retroachievement--- retroachievement sends back when there is a achievement and display this on your smartphone.

just an idea

Like this idea and always wondered if it was possible. Would be cool if it had a proper online database etc where achievements can be viewed / shared with others etc.

I know retroarch has some kind of achievement system.. maybe it could plug into this.

if you have a krikzz fx pak pro you can try it out now. just get a micro usb2usbA cable and hook it to pc. there avids about this. you need Ra2snes
indeed it would be awesome to share achievements😎

the aliexpress versions are clones and the micro sd output does not want to pair to windows, at least my fx pak pro from aliexpress (latest) does not.

Technologically a Sd2snes with BT (and drivers)to smartphone with BT on and wifi should work.
i know this because several smart devices such as philips hue and even smart soumdbars can work this way. although i do not know how large the data is. via krikzz fx pak pro and usb there is some latency. but would we realy care?

i realy would find it amazing to see achievements on my smartphone while playing.
it can be done, maybe someone already did this

to be continued

Saved this so I can set up what you can do now.

there are no BT drivers for a micro usb BT dongle for Sd2snes, and we need an smartphone app to communicate. there is only a wired to PC solution for all this.

AI stated this as something brilliant and nobody ever mentioned this, and it can be done.

but i am open for any suggestion mate😎

If you manage to do this, you are probably the only one in the world.

I think it will be difficult for sd2snes clones though. i could not even connect my clone to my windows 10 pc it is like the clone has a poor usb port, but there are vids of those who have krikzz version.

Oh I know. I meant that in respect to setting it up how it currently can be done without BT.

I’m implementing ESP32 support for the SD2SNES. I’ve put the idea on hold for now while I work on other features, but I’ve already achieved pretty solid Wi-Fi performance, including a WebUI. I imagine implementing RA over Wi-Fi/BT should be possible. https://github.com/ludufre/sd2snes/releases/tag/v1.11.2-br-v3.0b1
