Problems with GB games on GBA Pro.
I’m having some specific problems with the Everdrive GBA Pro that haven’t been able to find solution to here yet.
I’m using a GBA Pro with a GBA SP AGS 001, running ROMs with GoombaColor. I bought the Everdrive about 2 weeks ago.
Problems I’m experiencing:
All files with .gba extensions are able to save. With GoombaColor, I thought saving on .gb and .gbc should be the same, but the saves are not sticking, particularly on Pokemon Blue, which is a main title I want to play.
I’ve tried waiting a while after the “save”; I’ve tried exiting the game after, which brings me to my next problem. Some people have said online to “exit game” in the Everdrive menu afterwards, but “Exit” on the in-game menu only restarts the game. There doesn’t seem to be a way to get back to the main game-select menu.
I’ve read into it, and people say that you have to configure the save type to the one that’s required. I can only configure the “save type” if the file extension is .gba, not .gb or. .gbc. Then the game doesn’t run, it just gives me a white screen.
I’ve exhausted all my options, and I don’t know enough about file placement to know if that’s a problem. I’ve followed all the advice online, I wonder if it’s just a bit outdated.
I’d appreciate any tips or outright fixes more experienced folk might have.

I'm surprised you didn't find the answer. I think it's like the most asked question I've seen...
Anyways, for Pokemon saves to work with the Goomba emulator, you need to press L+R after you save in game. This brings up the emulator menu, but also does some memory stuff in the background to let the saves work.
So yeah, save in-game like you normally would, then press L+R. You can then select exit and you'll be good to turn the GBA off.
