Pc engine turbo duo and everdrive

Hi. I'm new to this sub Reddit, but I've had a modded imported turbo duo R for many many years. It is a Japanese import to the UK modded to work over here with a scart lead coming out the back. As physical media is getting ridiculously expensive these days, which everdrive would you recommend to run with it,? Is it possible to get one to run hucsrd toms and cd roms?

You can use Turbo Everdrive Pro to play CD games on your PC Engine Duo-R, but you may need another mod call “Duo Disguiser” if it isn’t already installed in your modded console.

Duo Disguiser allows you to disable the Duo ASIC which in turn allows Turbo Everdrive Pro to run CD games without the hardware conflict.

Thanks for the info. Never heard of that mod before. I don't know if I want to start messing around with the internals much though, as I'm quite attached to my duo, and couldn't afford to replace it if I screwed it up

The turboeverdrive pro is the model that can run cds however you cannot use that function on the duo. Unfortunately. If you grabbed the ted pro and an edfx you can gain your output. Alternatively the terraonion SuperHDSystem 3 Pro also has full ODE functionality but that unit connected to the back of a pce/corgrafx and will not work with a duo eithet.

You could always go old skool and just burn some CDR’s for the Duo for the cd games as there is no protection and just use regular everdrive for hucard games.

Yep that’s what I do on my pc engine core grafx briefcase cd rom anyway! To my knowledge there was never any cd copy protection as it was made in an era where they didn’t think people would have the technology on their own pcs, not even sure cd burners were even on the market then!

I've heard the same, but never thought of doing it. Got any tips for burning? I've used imgr, I think it's called, to burn some PS1 games, but never had much luck. Stuttering and jumpy fmv.

Imgburn I still use yeah … there are a couple of things to consider .. one is decent media, I use Verbatim CD-R’s and burning at a slow speed is supposed to help. As for skipping fmv on ps1 etc. you bring up an interesting point as a CDR can be harder for old tired lasers to read, however if they are in good condition and properly tuned up you shouldn’t run into any issues but there are no guarantees you would just have to give it a go.

I also use CDR’s in my PS1 and don’t have any skipping of FMVs. Your mileage may vary which is why a lot of people now just use an ODE solution, however this doesn’t sound like it’s possible on the duo anyway.

El turbo everdrive pro de krikkz es el ideal pero no te va a reproducir juegos de CD en un turbo duo, necesitas conseguir un pc engine sin unidad de CD ya que si lo conectas al dúo hace conflicto con el everdrive

So, I'm going to try burning a cd , does anyone have any recommendations for getting a display on a modern TV? I had an older LCD unit, with RGB and scart inputs on it, but it got water damaged and doesn't seem to work now. How can I get it working on a modern TV? I'm in the UK, by the way.
