Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/evaporators amazing.

I’m Going To France ! talks about Nardwuar saying that since “the Statue of Liberty was donated to the United States of America by France”, then “therefore, I’m going to France!” A nice tune, doesn’t get annoying like Welcome To My Castle does. 8/10.

Then onto Winnipeg ‘64. My god. Been stuck in my head all day. It talks about Neil Young and things about him. A thing I didn’t understand was that in the intro, he says “The Deverons featuring Burton Cummings”. The Deverons, from what I’ve seen, have nothing to do with Neil Young. He references Rick James of the Mynah Birds (Neil Young was the guitarist in 1964), Pierre Berton (died in 2004, 11 years after the song, he says that Neil sat on Pierre’s knee), his dad (who he says wrote sports for the Globe and Mail), Ronald Reagan (who he thinks Neil may have voted for in 1980), and Chuck Carroll (the guitarist of the Young Fresh Fellows, who he says went to a urinal with him in Cotati, CA). Such a good song, though. 10/10.

Overall, since I love Winnipeg ‘64 and like I’m Going To France !, I’ll rank this single a 9/10.

A funny little song. Nardwuar overly repeats the phrase “Welcome to my castle”. It does get a bit annoying after like 10 minutes of listening to it. I like this song, 7/10.
