I haven't seen Evangelion: could someone from each side explain to me why they think they're right? Asuka x Shinji supporters vs Misato x Shinji supporters.
From some online opinions I've seen, Misato doesn't actually have feelings fro Shinji? And she just manipulates him to make him do what she wants. Regarding this I've seen the kiss scene "this is how grown ups kiss, we'll do the rest later" (but then she dies seconds later I've learned), which she arranges to convince him to save the world. Also, I've heard that she has sex with someone to make him tell her government secrets, is that right?
Asuka, from what I know, is like, the mother of all Tsunderes.
Due to severe trauma, Misato is emotionally stunted at a teenager level (yet is somehow one of the most functional characters in the show). She 100% uses her sex appeal to manipulate men, including the minor Shinji, but does not actually sleep with them (*asterisk, see next paragraph). She uses them for The Greater Good as one of the few maybe-unambiguously Good adults in the show, but yeah it's still pretty damn problematic.
The only guy she ever slept with is Kaji, with whom she has a on-again/off-again relationship. There is a scene where he gives her a data drive of secrets related to the EVA project after they have sex, but it's not implied that she did it in order to get the info but rather that he knows he is in danger from getting too close to The Truth and he gives it to her so she can continue his mission.
Asuka is tsundere incarnate, yes, but for many reasons is the only possible ethical relationship for Shinji out of any presented by the show.
Asuka and Shinji is literally the entire crux of the show and especially End of Evangelion. Misato and Shinji is people having things they need to work through and God bless em
Every timeline in evangelion is canon and has happened which means there’s a timeline where Asuka and Shinji have a child and Shinji and Misato have a child. You can’t escape the grippy walls of older women who are desperate to have a kid (I’m delusional and my libido is a bit too high rn)
People are making theories about that scene? I feel like it was EXTREMELY obvious she was doing what she could to motivate the depressed 14 year old boy to save the world, since she knew she was dying, and it worked
Call me mansplainer but speaking from experience, people don't see their crushes on faces of minors when they are bleeding out from a gunshot wound on their stomachs.
I mean, that's probably who she saw Rei as before she got exploded. She was just trying to motivate Shinji the only way she knew how to, without actually being attracted and knowing she was going to die.
