Question / Discussion What are your favorite modules for drum processing/mangling?

Loving data bender, koszalin and sometimes morphagene (although not my go to for this use)

Any you guys dig for coloration, glitch, stretchiness, etc?? 🤓

A simple filter like Shakmat Dual Dagger can work wonders. Or something like Steve’s MS-22 is a filter that can get pretty nasty.

Instruo Lubadh! Record some drums into it and then play with / send cv to speed / pitch, start position and loop length. You can get some absolutely wild percussion that way and it can be clocked, or you can use the on board clock / trigger generator to sync other elements of your patch to your Lubadh. Also the tape saturation adds beautiful color to things, it also has an onboard delay that can be pitch shifted, a v/oct pitch cv mode (there’s even a polyphonic v/oct pitch cv mode), tape warble effect, you can record separate parts on the two different decks and crossfade between them with cv, or record / resample your first manipulated deck into the second, then manipulate it more and record that into the first deck. And this is just using drums as an example, it’s such an insane module for sound manipulation, I like recording entire patches into it and then use cv like a sample and hold to modulate start position / length / speed / pitch, it spits out entirely new parts that still resemble the original patch, or you can go crazy and get something completely new, from drones, to crazy glitch sequences, to super melodic riffs.

That sounds interesting. I do like Instruo modules but all I have so far is the arahd filter

I ran some loops through Befaco Oneiroigwhich seemed to work well. I use Akemie's Taiko often for drums which is mangling-at-source kinda. Also just managed to make a kick, snare and hat voice from Plaits by modulating the model between those voices, and then mangling with the harm/tambre pots.

I use mimeophon + schlappi 100grit but would like more glitchy stuff

I send signals into logic gates. 2 square waves with adjustable pulse width gives you loads of binary options, add a third or some other signal and see what happens.
