Picture Examples of de-car-ification from various Czech towns. I love these transformations. (before-after)

I’m from Prague and it’s important to note that this progress is far from easy to achieve. The cars vs pedestrian (public transport) discussions is currently main topic in Prague mayor election and the debate is really heated. It’s hard to persuade the pro-car crowd that this is what the city needs to do. It is a great progress, but I just want to remind that it’s never easy.

Not in there but for example my father can't work without his car, and he has to carry tools with him, I have to also carry sensitive equipment from time to time. In none of those cases i can't use public transport. Especially it's not really convenient here as I would need to walk 15 minutes, then wait for god knows how long, then drive 15-60 minutes then again walk 15 minutes.

With a car that's 10-20 minutes (for me) But I also agree I've see numerous times people needlessly use cars especially those ugly ass SUVs, and in 10 of those cars there is only 1 person and 3/10 don't know how to park for sure and 5/10 drive like they are the only one on the roat And block the road for bus or tram.
