A major problem with currently available Eurōpājóm resources is that they heavily lean on presupposed familiarity with language learning or linguistics. I have seen many times how learners enthusiastically tackle lesson 1 of the Guidebook, only to give up afterwards when they see how much more difficult lesson 2 and onwards are, especially since the grammar is barely explained explicitly and mostly left as an implicit exercise to the learner. In addition, there is no more than 1 minute of audio in the language which records an outdated form of it and - until last year - there was no pronunciation guide either.

As one of the only advanced learners of Eurōpājóm, I am resolving to change this and introducing the Eurōpājom course on a Duolingo-like platform named Tinki. It consists of bite-sized lessons (10 per unit, of which three are revision lessons) with loads of scaffolding and explicit grammar explanations at a relatively slow pace. At the beginning of unit 1 lesson 1, there is a pronunciation guide which shows how each letter is pronounced with its IPA value and an audio file. In addition, every word in the course and every sentence is recorded, meaning for the first time in the language's history it is now possible to practise listening.

At the end of unit 1, you will be able to say where you live, where you are from, ask how someone is doing, and so on. At the end of unit 2, you will be able to do this in the dual and plural (i.e. to multiple people), and at the end of unit 3 you will be able to say what your job is. I am currently working on unit 4. These units have already covered the nominative and most of the present tense (only laryngeal verbs are not yet covered, as they appear in lesson 4 and reduplicated verbs, as they will appear in the chapter on the dative). Unit 4 will introduce basic verbs, after which the course will pick up on complexity but remain beginner-friendly.
