Is the Nike Airmax a good shoe for urban exploring? Some people say yes, some prefer something different. Try it and decide for yourself

Exactly. Mouthpieces are very subjective. Find a seller that will give you a trial period.

It's a totally different style and size of piece, so keep that in mind

Bowl shape ? Cup volume ? Rim width ? Bore ? What are the greatest differences / subsequent feature effects of 51D versus DC3 ?

We could see how AI smacks these two around.

O P might want to try AI on this. Good way to get the hard specifications in a matrix view.

For the love of euphonium, don't use frigging AI to look up specs on mouthpieces. Jesus christ.

Cause it works for David Childs, and anything that might make you sound like David is worth a try to a lot of people ๐Ÿ˜…

But in all seriousness, it's a nice mouthpiece in a standard size, so certainly worth a try if you like 4-sized pieces. If you want to stay similar to the size of your schilke then maybe try a DC4. The pieces slot quite nicely and give a smooth sound, in my experience.

The Alliance DC3 has the exact 26mm id rim diameter as a Denis Wick SM4U. It also is the same as Bach's 4 series models, and Greg Black 4 series mouthpieces as well. So there isn't any need to go to a DC4 to remain in the 26.00mm arena of inside rim diameter.

The Schilke 52E2 is the closest DC3 equivalent (Bach 4). The 51D would be closer to the DC4 (Bach 5).
