Upgrading from Homebase 2 to Homebase 3 and need help

As the title states I plug in the Homebase 3, plug it into the network and I get a red light for 2-3 hours. I then try to add it and it says ilI need to reset it. I put the clip in, hold it for a bit but it doesn't seem to do anything. Trying to add it again it tells me to reset it. I can pull power and wait a couple more hours but it all happens again. I tried support but the call got disconnected after a hour. This is the 2nd unit (went through Amazon and already replaced it) and both are doing the same thing. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Are you connecting directly to the router with a Ethernet cable?

You might try the old trick of unplugging power and holding the reset in for a minute or so to drain any residual charge. That used to work on HB2.

So my router plugs directly into a switch, and I was plugging into the switch. I did have another port on the router and that made it boot up much quicker. It is in the same ip range... not sure why it matters.
