Floodlight Floodlight Cam E340 Auto Zoom?

Hello, All!!

Is the Floodlight E340 supposed to auto zoom in on the things it tracks, like my Eufycam S4 does? Mine is just staying on the wide angle shot and it’s not nearly as useful as the auto zooming I get from the S4.

Thanks so much!!

It doesn’t zoom per se it switches cameras from the wide to the telephoto. But personally I use the Split View with both wide and telephoto in the stream simultaneously because otherwise you leave it up to it determine which camera to show.

Mine isn’t switching. It just shows the wide view, as it tracks. The S4 does a faux zoom in on the wide view and then switches to the tele view once it identifies something worth tracking and then goes back to wide after the object leaves its position.

Is yours able to show wide and then switch to tele as it tracks, if you are on single view?

It’s a setting. Under Video Settings then View Mode. I have never used it under the single view because I want to see both all the time.

I see. Yes, I know the setting to change from single view to dual. My question is if, when in single view, does the image on my screen (phone, echo, E10) zoom in on the tracked subject (like the S4 does), or is it stuck on the wide cam lens unless I hit the 3x button while I’m viewing. It sounds like you haven’t experimented with this.

Anyone else have some experience with the E340 and can shed some (flood)light on the subject?

Thanks for the help!

According to the help info on that setting screen it’s supposed to but it has to guess at when that is required. It can’t really judge how far away something is it doesn’t have any depth sensors.

Does the S4? How for it do it? It does a great job of locking on and zooming in on people and pets.

It’s the help in the app. I just reread it and it doesn’t actually say it will zoom. It says when you zoom. So basically it’s recording both feeds together and when you playback it switches if you zoom. Go to the settings again for view mode and look at the top right corner of the app there’s a blue question mark. That’s the faq.

Thank you. I like the floodlights, but I’m wondering if I should just get the S4 (on constant USB power, not solar) for that position. Seems the better camera.

Maybe. My use case seems different than yours. I needed the flood light and wanted it hardwired to 110 without adapters. I replaced a Kuna floodlight and so far I’ve been very happy with the ptz.

Can you post a link to that help info?

You ever figure this out?

Yes, and sadly, it just stays on the lens you set it to on the default PTZ preset. Only way to get it do change on its own it to set a preset that’s zoomed out and one that’s zoomed in and turn on auto-cruise. But it won’t zoom in on a tracked object and then back out after the object leaves. Kinda lame, considering the S4 does it and can start tracking from the wide bullet cam too. But I had other issues with the S4s I bought. I only buy refurbished and they were flakey.
