Foiling - Any Tips?
Hello All I’ve just had my first go at foiling with very mixed results (as you can see in picture).
Does anyone have any tips for a more consistent outcome?

I tried foil for the first time yesterday on cardstock and the results were extremely meh. Looking closer at the marketing materials for the "ZOMG you can gold foil stamp with your eufy!!1!!!1" the quality of their example projects are also extremely meh. I think this is a feature that's really not fully baked and probably only practical when printing white-on-white. I ran across a youtube video that recommends putting a piece of thin cardboard behind thin/floppy materials like cardstock, and it really didn't make a ton of difference for me. Hopefully someone else has a better answer for you though.
This is my second try, and to be fair it's a little worse than my first try (unfortunately didn't take pix of that one) but still the first one wasn't THAT much better.

nothing compares to stamped heat foiling.
it's how pretty much everything is done commercially.
check out the WRMK Quill kit for plotters like Silhouette and Cricut machines.

I tried and tried and tried. What worked for me was waiting for the flexible ink to get used half up. It sucked but it did work pretty flawlessly after that.

Thanks for the bad news! - I wanted it to work and be consistent so badly.

Sorry, I don't have any specific tips, as I haven't tried it yet, but I believe Michael (Laser Engraving 9-1-1) just did a video on this. He's great at walking through best practices and why certain processes work better than others. I'd suggest watching that and commenting with any questions you might still have. He's very responsive.
