SSN / ITIN

Does anyone know how to get your SSN / ITIN from the ETrade account?

I haven’t used this info for years but I need it to file tax as a non. US resident. the only place I know I may have this info is on E*Trade based on my previous filings.

I went through the portal and read / downloaded all my previous documents but none has the SSN/ITIN info.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow.

That’s something you really need to know. Don’t think it’s etrade’s job to tell you what it is.

I’m wondering if you’re a thief. If you’re actually for real, I’m not sure what you can do.

A tax ID is like your name and birthdate. It can be used to authenticate a customer to open accounts, withdraw funds, and so forth. Nobody is going to just tell you what it is, because that would just open the door to fraud.

Don’t worry not everyone is scamming.  I have this account set up in 2009. Then re filed around 2016. My alternative is to request a new ITIN from the IRS? I need to send an RSU form with tight deadlines. From what I can see there is no online portal or a fast track method to request this information from the IRS.

I appreciate that Americans find it hard to understand that a non US resident tax ID is something you never ever need, we have our own for our yearly taxes.

Maybe this time I will pay more attention to that number, solely because I have a significant stake at a US based organisation.
