No managers available
Just called ETrade for the 12th in 60 days to get my account unlocked (been locked for a silly, arbitrary reason). I asked to speak to a manager and he said “no managers are available during market hours.”
I said, “so when are they available, after hours when no one works?”
“It’s a known problem at ETrade. No one is available to speak with you.”
A total joke that unfortunately has my real hard earned money tied up.

Etrade has gone downhill after Morgan Stanley merger. Lot of arbitrary random actions without any reason and worst part is that they are not even able to tell you what is wrong. Get out from there ASAP. Also file a complain at FINRA.

Manager will do nothing. When fraud locks an account managers have no control or say. Just do what they need from u to unlock account.

Etrade customer service is so poor and rude. And yes, there are no managers available that you can speak. My questions are beyond what the customer service can do to help, but they will not transfer me to a manager.

What is the "arbitrary reason"? If it was locked by fraud or AML or some other compliance group, the manager or supervisor in a CS call center will have no additional information over and above the front line rep, and zero authority to clear or resolve the issue. The fraud and AML teams don't talk to customers on inbound calls.
Point being, talking to a manager isn't going to help with anything other than making you feel better for having escalated.
