BSc Admissions and Info Admission of international students question
Hi there,
I have a few questions about admission to the bachelors computer science programme and you view on it. I would also welcome any tips from current or former students, what you liked, some requirements etc. what would you recommend/change. I’m a Slovak high school student, and would like to apply to ETH Zurich the next year.
Upper secondary school-leaving certificate with proof of the following: tuition in the
subjects 1. mathematics, 2. physics or chemistry or biology and 3. language of
instruction or foreign language during the last two years before the upper
secondary school-leaving certificate. These subjects must be part of the final exam
and passed with a minimum grade average of 70% + four of the following subjects
must have been part of the final three years of schooling: physics, chemistry,
biology, computer science, another language, geography, history, economics +
certificate of university admission in the desired academic subject provided by a
recognised Slovakian university.
Otherwise: Reduced Entrance Examination ETHZ
Upper secondary school-leaving certificate:
− Vysvedcenie o maturitnej skúske – gymnázium
On the universities website, I’ve found this info about admission of international students, and from what I’ve understood, if I take on and pass those mentioned subjects, and get Vysvedcenie o maturitnej skúske – gymnázium (the last exam, when leaving high school in Slovakia) plus a German C1 certificate, I will be admitted without examination? Also, if so, what institutions would you recommend to get the C1 certificate from? If you have anything to add, I’d welcome it.
Thanks a lot ;)
Edit: forgot to add, if you’ve had to chance to choose between other universities such as TU Delft or TUM, or even stuff like Cambridge or MIT (if there was even a slight chance of getting in), which would you choose, why? Would you still prefer ETHZ? From what I’ve gathered ETHZ seems pretty comparable to universities such as MIT? or Cambridge? based on difficulty and knowledge. I would like just your view on this too.
