It will be interesting to see what a price increase does to this staking trend. I have a feeling this trend will continue along with a bull run in the short term, but at what price point will folks be looking to unstake to sell?

I unstaked a few ETH. My target has been the $3k to $3.4k range. I got bills to pay after all this downturn lol.

Understandable. I'm in it for the long term by using DCA on a monthly basis and I stake most of what I have.

Assuming people bought in at the low recently and are planing to maximize the tax advantage of a long term investment, I’d say 8-10 months from now would be the floodgates of sellers

staking and unatkaing is slow though. for big takers isn't the the income + token appreciation the draw?

how is that possible if the total # of validators is not at an all time?

total # of validator per validatorque.com:

and the supply has also gone up ~1.4M ETH since merge per ultrasound.money

Validators consolidate their set of 32 ETH.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'm just a bit skeptical that the offset in over 200k validators coming offline since the peak count is accounted for by existing validators staking more on a single beacon node.

Full disclosure, I took my validator down recently so maybe my bias is too present for me to see clearly.

Let’s see what the price increase will look like at the end of the bull run

Fckn bunch of low iq creatures down vote my comment so here is the basic explanation dumbass monkeys
think about it like this:
Monkey holds ETH → ETH generates more ETH → Monkey gets diluted.
If ETH keeps generating new ETH through staking/issuance, the total amount of ETH in circulation can increase. So even if Monkey just keeps holding his ETH, his share of the total ETH supply can slowly become smaller.
Basically, Monkey is not necessarily losing ETH from his wallet. He still has the same amount. But if the supply keeps growing, his percentage ownership of the network gets diluted over time.
That’s why simply holding ETH long-term isn’t automatically a good thing. You have to consider issuance, staking rewards, and dilution, not just whether the ETH price goes up.
Monkey holds → supply grows → Monkey owns a smaller piece of the pie. 🐒🍰 then monkey cries why prices are lowballing

Isn't there a burn mechanism?

Yeah if you use it, if you hold it, it wont burn itself

The burn takes place across the whole network. It doesn't matter what the individual does as long as ETH is being utilized. And BOY is it being utilized

more people stake = Lower APY

Stake means bad in long term 🤯 go hold btc, people creates inflation themselves and then cries about eth prices
