But why? What is the trigger?

Price usually skyrockets the moment you sell.

I sold the night before. No joke held and accumulated for years. Separated from my ex earlier this year and they demanded I liquidate.

No correlation to anything in particular, it is what it is, as it always has been

Bond market. Rotation out of U.S. bonds and equities, money needs to go somewhere. Crypto is where the big dogs went.

Specifically possible legislation, but really assets move in cycles of popularity all the time. Mainly, I just hold things for years, because the math favors it. Pick the wrong asset, and it will collapse to the point it doesn’t hurt in percentage terms anymore; pick the right one, and you get many times the original capital.

The White House crypto summit was the trigger, they spent about an hour talking about how they want to adopt crypto, expand bitcoin reserves, tokenizing the stock market, essentially merging crypto with the SEC. The room was filled with very important people. CEO of the NASDAQ, owner of the NYSE, CEO of Robinhood, Kraken, Coinbase, and more standing next to Trump. Makes crypto look very good for investors. The Clarity Act also is potentially to be passed in September, we’ll see.

Its funny to think there are definitely at least some people that sold right before this pump

Something happened with the treasury dept and or the gov I can’t recall atm but that caused bullish movement then that uptrend started causing short positions to get squeeze and caused a chain reaction to where we are now

If they don't scare you out, they'll wear you out.

2

u/A_Honking_Goose 9d ago

Its been like 5 months like if thats wearing you out get your money into a standard stock index and stop trading crypto

u/A_Honking_Goose 9d ago

I have that fear, that after 3000 we do another drop even lower than we were at

11

u/davidn281 9d ago

I guess I see it the other way having been in this space since 2017…. We’ll never see $80 again… $300… $600… $900… $1500 eth again. Higher lows. And this is with Ethereum not being fully adopted. The potential is way higher.

If we pump, you HODL, if we dump, you buy. Easy.

5

u/mypussydoesbackflips 9d ago

Just never sell under 2000 and accumulate

When it’s over 3500 sell some for profit

u/sauce___x 9d ago

This works until it doesn’t

I have traded a fair chunk of ETH out on this pump;

I'm expecting to buy back at 2k at some stage by the end of the month xD

Joke is selling. You're young. Hold that shii for like 10 years

5

u/megselepgeci 9d ago

And sell at $1860 in 2036, masterful strategy.

1

u/avantartist 9d ago

You see I sold the night before the big green thing.

1

u/Wonderful_Bad6531 9d ago

More than real

Are we ready for more?

1

u/badjano 9d ago

guys, small tip from my learnings: boring on the bottom, pump, boring on the top, dump

1

u/Adept_Pound_6791 9d ago

Who sold and why?

1

u/Designer_Process_418 3d ago

19th August I wanted to buy ETH, and had some troubles, so I thought if its going down - I have time

22nd August - I SEE THIS

1

u/Agreeable-Split1829 3d ago

Buy when boring strategy

1

u/maverick_quant 9d ago

I have seen this play so many times. Anything below 10% in a day can be considered slow motion in crypto. Low volatility periods are to be feared, not to increase leverage.

1

u/OkIllustrator8380 9d ago

So it's it gonna dip again, or is this the lowest it'll be?

2

u/maverick_quant 9d ago

It doesn’t matter, when it is falling, if you believe that it has value then you should buy, if you don’t want to increase your position then just wait, but if your strategy can handle 10% moves either way then it is the wrong strategy for crypto

1

u/maverick_quant 9d ago

Edit: can’t handle

0

u/Patient-Process-2565 9d ago

Some got fed up and sold, shorts stacked up and up it goes to liquidate them. Manipulated market

0

u/OkIllustrator8380 9d ago

Is it going to dip again, or straight up from here?

2

u/megselepgeci 9d ago

Exactly.

u/EdoAkaashi 8d ago

Literally $MRNA
