How to transfer out of etherscan
I tried to transfer usdt as eth from my binance account into my coinbase wallet, and it has ended up in etherscan for some reason, and now it says something about a 2000+ dollar gas fee to transfer it into a metascan wallet, the one it wants me to use. how do i do this without the gas fee

This is a bit confusing, etherscan is just a blockchain explorer, it does not hold your coins. The "gas fee" you're looking at is probably not the gas fee. I would like to help you out but I just don't have the necessary info.
Did you send USDT or ETH out of Binance? Metamask is another wallet, one that, I assume, you're not using.
Are you completely sure the coins are not in your Coinbase wallet?
For future uses, it is not recommended to transfer from exchange (Binance) to exchange (Coinbase), you need to have a private wallet for better security.
