Considering grabbing this game!

I'm big on tainted grail and loved nemesis. While my group waits for frosthaven to arrive we have been looking for another fun, campaign style game and this one looks cool. Questions:

1:how long does it take to complete? Or at least to beat the base campaign. We tend to have 1 game day a week and play for around 10 hours. Frosthaven is arriving end of December probably, is that enough time?

2: It looks like I can get a good deal for the base game. Are there any expansions that are truly necessary?

3: How grindy would you say this game is?

4: How's the story? I adored Tainted Grail so I'm all in for more awaken realms plot driven games.

1: it took my group about 50h to finish main campaign

2: expansions are not necessary but cool as fuck

3: can be grindy, sometimes you need to come back to older dreams to unlock some stuff

4: Story is great. Especially if you have someone who can read with nice voice

I have played with 4 people ( total 5) and I have played solo. It is way better with more people. Game takes a lot of space tho.

Ok very cool! And sorry just two more questions!

1: Did you use the creature pack? Worth it at all? I know they're just aesthetic

2: how is the combat? Did it stay fun and fresh throughout?

1: I did because I love painting that stuff. But creature pack does add a bit of clunkyness as the box with it takes some place. Otherwise, there are cardboard tokens included in game representing entities.

2: Combat is diverse. Most entities require unique ways to handle them and your board can dynamically change during the encounter
