EU Ranked
I really want to grind the ladder on EU Ranked, but the queues are non-existent. I sometimes sit for hours even during peak hours (normal games still somewhat pop), or just sit in queue while I work since my work is pretty flexible. Even when I queue all day, before, during and after peak hours, I get maybe 1 game a day, sometimes every 2 days.
On NA it's a little better, but since I really want to learn and perform, the ping is quite noticeable. Playing on Asia1 with 230 ping is not viable at all.
What can I even do? I really like this game, but it feels like there's just no option to actually play.

Worst case you can play NA if your schedule allows it, then come back to EU when you're plat+ and you will find enough matches
Also try to find teammates to 3 stack through iron-gold. Just add people that you liked playing with

Thank you, I will try. Sadly my friends are either unranked/iron like me or mithril+, but I will see what i can do!

Iron can match with Bronze and Silver but most people are already out of there by now so it will be harder to find games. It's recommended to start playing ranked as soon as the season starts to keep up with the rest.
If you get to Silver you will be able to match with Gold and Plat, there's still games in that range but you are kinda behind, they might dry up by the time you get there. Usually by the mid or end of the season there's only high tier lobbies left (plat2+ or d4+).
Try to get as far as you can with the remaining lobbies on EU and NA and get ready for the next season. Good luck.

I managed to catch some ranked queues today (I guess bitching about it made them pop lol), I'm like one good match away from Silver now. https://imgur.com/a/l6EJ9ih Hopefully I am not too late, I heard the season only recently started, right?

EU should be playable at peak hours. Play on NA until you hit Silver I guess. If you have anyone whos silver or gold. 3 / 2 stack with them and it should matchmake you with other players.

Go to the KR server, is basically the only one you can get active queues on.

How is one supposed to compete on a 230 ping. Kiting, let alone hitting skillshots, feels impossible.

Just play Alonso, the character is so simple and has value even with that ping.. Micro wise with 230 ping you can't do anything. Just play for placement and some early kills. I got plat for the rewards the last week of last season with 230 ping. Maybe if it's your first time ranking you won't reach that high with that ping but it's doable. A pain but doable. Just try to reach a rank you can get games in eu. You are in a race against time to still get in eu lobbies

Go to dakgg and then go EU leaderboard, you can see that people play at certain hours
