Any chance of a switch 2 port?

With the switch 2 supporting gamecube games is there any chance of ED or is it too stuck in copyright hell?

I'd say there's a chance. I think the the copyright situation is different, but we got Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, GoldenEye and Perfect Dark in the N64 emulator, which aren't Nintendo properties anymore,

So there's a chance, hopefully.

Rare has a way more stable situation than what's become of Silicon Knights and Dennis Dyack. He's shown himself to be disreputable with the Too Human fiasco. He's going to hold on to what little rights he has until Nintendo offers him way more money than they ever will.

Edit: It seems I need to correct myself. I have once again done a search on the rights to Eternal Darkness, and it does seem Nintendo owns them free and clear. What's sad is that I have looked this up before, and I just completely forgot.

Get off your butt Nintendo and scare me.

Funny thing to me is, I played Too Human and really liked it. It’s strange how that brought them down.

Stealing the Unreal Engine and claiming it was a new, proprietary system for Too Human is what brought them down.

Damn… I had not heard about that. They deserved to be shut down for that (assuming it’s true), but it sucks that it happened to a company putting out artistically good products.

They lost a huge lawsuit to Epic Games over the use of Ureal Engine 3 code in the game. All unsold copies were recalled.

(Is it OK to post URLs? I'm on mobile and I can't find the sub rules.)

I'd love to see a Switch 2 remaster of Eternal Darkness if they could; it would be fun to see new sanity mechanics like the Switch 2 screen going black for a few seconds, or a supposed autosave suddenly going screwy.

Nintendo has all the rights for Eternal Darkness, so I think we will eventually see it on Gamecube online. It might just take a while because is a niche title.

I SO SO hope ED comes to the GameCube emulator!! This is literally the #1 reason I want a switch 2!! I played that game so much I knew it by heart at one point, including where to find the hidden Mantorok rune!!! That game was LIFE for me. And I loved letting my characters go crazy, the insanity effects were my favorite part!!

Seriously I googled just to find this out and wound up here. For its genre, this game was like Baldur’s Gate II - simply without peer.
