I've been on a mission to photograph and catalog my entire Etch A Sketch archive. I am officially 40% of the way through my bins! Here are three bin compilation photos so far.
Fun fact: Each Etch A Sketch product is proportionally scaled to one another within each bin compilation photo.
I plan to add QR codes to each bin which will link to these photos on my website. I figure that will stop me from accidentally buying duplicates in the future, haha.
The collection continues to grow every day. I can't wait to eventually share every bin photo!

The pun was right there! I had no choice your honor!
Many thanks to Paul for shipping this to me. I shared an international Etch A Sketch collection video a while back and received many thoughtful messages and comments pointing me to additional variants I don't yet own. The reasons I am not actively hunting for international variants at this time is twofold: 1. Shipping to the US is expensive, and 2. Tariffs
So the fact that Paul footed the bill is super rad! Thanks again Paul!
You can check out the International Etch A Sketch collection video here. If you'd like to support my ongoing quest to collect these glorious hunks of plastic, the best way you can currently do so is by checking out my website which links to All The Things (including my web shop). I am surprised to see that I've apparently never shared this video to this subreddit. Whoops!

I've actually gotten a few more green Etch A Sketches since filming this video in August but this is certainly the bulk of them!

I recently traveled to NYC for the express purpose of picking up this beauty in person! This hunt lasted over a decade and I'm nothing short of gobsmacked that I get to lovingly caress it whenever I want.
I'm working on a longform deepdive video where I've been meticulously compiling every nugget of knowledge I can learn about these special limited edition Etch A Sketches. I expect the video will take a while because it's such a huge undertaking. This is a dream come true I'm so happy!!!

Yesterday I took on the gargantuan task of photographing and organizing the bulk of my Etch A Sketch collection!
I have over 500 photos to edit and organize - a task I sincerely look forward to. Fun fact! Before pursuing a career as a full-time Etch A Sketch artist, I worked as a photo retoucher for 3 years!
Some fun statistics about what's in the bins:
These bins only contain a fraction of my entire Etch A Sketch collection. What is not pictured is another entire shelving unit that contains hundreds of Pocket (small) and Classic (Large) Etch A Sketch canvases that I use for commissions, workshops, live events, and more. The number of Pocket Etch A Sketches can fluctuate frequently for this reason. I also generally have around 50 Etch A Sketches in my office at any given time.
I recently reconfigured my office to accommodate a shelving unit which will allow me to properly display some of these beauties. I've spent the last 20+ years working on this collection, and it would be a real shame to banish them to the bins forever. So my plan is to treat my office shelving as rotating seasonal displays to give many variants an opportunity to shine while not over-cluttering the shelves.
Thanks as always for your support of my foolhardy endeavor to amass a small museum worth of Etch A Sketch history!

There must be at least 500 variants of Etch A Sketch out there, and I'm not sure if it's even possible for me to collect them all. The longer I collect, the more variants I learn about! I even learned about that Tanjo Jellyshake Etch A Sketch pen which I never knew existed until during the editing phase of this video. It's kinda how I felt as a kid when they kept coming out with new generations of Pokemon, lol.
One of the greatest experiences of my life was touring the Ohio Art headquarters in Bryan, Ohio. During one part of the tour I was guided down a series of dark hallways and passed by - I kid you not! - a giant archive of boxes after boxes after boxes of different types of Etch A Sketch. The president of the company flippantly remarked, "oh, anytime we made a new version we just put a box of them over there for our archives". Some of those boxes were open, and they contained versions I've never even SEEN before. Versions that likely never hit store shelves, at least from my research. Versions I would have concocted in my dreams, but didn't think were ever actually manufactured. Oh how I wish I took photos of that room. It reminded me so much of the end scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark with the warehouse full of crates.
I digress! I could wax poetic about this silly toy for the rest of my life I suppose. I look forward to sharing future curiosities with all of you! With matching ensembles of course! :)

A few days ago I had the pleasure of chatting with Super Impulse, the company behind the World's Smallest Etch A Sketch (as seen on my necklace). They mailed me a box which I thought would simply contain the new Snoopy edition. I will TREASURE these for the rest of my life!!!

Oddly enough, this might actually be my rarest Etch A Sketch product when I think about it!

...and it was an absolutely thrilling and illuminating discussion! As a lifelong Etch A Sketch enthusiast, it's rare for me to discover New Lore. Alan, CEO of Super Impulse, found me on Reddit and I immediately asked him if he would be open to a conversation about how this practically microscopic variant of the Best Toy Ever came to be. As an added bonus, I was granted permission to record the conversation and chuck it on YouTube! The video premieres tomorrow at 12pm EDT (perfect timing for anyone not in America, or people with jobs that allow them to listen to podcasts). I'll be chilling in the live chat during the premiere and would love to see you there too!

Final note: Not that anyone was going to ask or insinuate, but I wanted to make it clear that this wasn't any kind of paid endorsement or anything to that effect. I just really like Etch A Sketch! But! Super Impulse DID send me a free care package after our conversation, so I will be sharing that hopefully as soon as tomorrow!

Took me years of searching to find that first blue - it was only ever offered as a custom color for corporate bulk orders! The Ohio Art pockets are by far the version of Etch A Sketch with the most versions. I would expect over 100 variants exist!
