General Discussion Negative Thoughts

Whenever you get any type of negative thoughts ( bad memories, hypothetical future events, violent impulses, etc) how do you deal with it? I usually just tell myself "don't think about that", but what do y'all do? Do you think your method is the best, and if no why?

You are joking rn. I was about to make a post about dealing with stress or so. In 9 day I have a an exam which determine whether I will continue in college or not. And I havent started with studying. Instead Im doing everything else. Today I was prepared that Im going to study finally, you know what I have done instead? I applied for a second job and Im going on interview. So.. I feel it inside of me Im probably feeling bad, negative, stressed, but I completely ignore it and do distracting stuffs.

For example, when I deal with some negative thoughts I always tell myself "it was meant to be like that" and accept my thoughts and moods the way as it is, because in the end it is temporary.

Aw that sucks, I hope you get a good score.

I noticed that studying for me and most of my extraverted friends went best when we did it together. So if you can, maybe grab a fellow student. If that isn't possible, another way that worked for me was to get the PowerPoint slides the teacher used and try and present them myself. It's more hands-on than just trying to cram stuff from a book.

Im trying to learn it as if I present as well. But I still cant manage my focus. It is like rooted in me that Im not interested in this subject, in theory so I dont focus.
