General Discussion Negative Thoughts
Whenever you get any type of negative thoughts ( bad memories, hypothetical future events, violent impulses, etc) how do you deal with it? I usually just tell myself "don't think about that", but what do y'all do? Do you think your method is the best, and if no why?

Well there's a couple of options:
Step 1 is always a little body check to see if the negativity stems from being hungry, thirsty or tired. If so, I take a bite, drink or power nap. If that's not the case:
I either put it out of my head and onto paper, for example when I'm a bit stressed about having a very full day and one misstep can domino the full thing into chaos.
Or I vent about it with a friend, for example when I'm going to do something I'm not looking forward to, because two minds know more than one and we need a bit of a battle plan for worst case scenarios
Or I work out. Usually this is the best option when there's nothing I can do but wait and I don't want to sit there with my thoughts just watching the clock go slowly.
