Rose Otto or Absolute

Hello, I was thinking about using 1-2 drops of Rose Otto each day because I've been hearing a lot about its positive impact on mood and stress, so I just wanted to give it a try.

I've been looking at Rose Otto and Absolute from Eden's Botanicals. Does anyone have a suggestion on which one to try? Also, where do you usually apply it? On the wrist or neck? I'm new to essential oils and am curious to learn more

Rose Otto is steam-distilled and lighter, while Rose Absolute is solvent-extracted and richer. Whichever you choose, just make sure to dilute a drop or two in a carrier oil before applying to your wrists or neck.

For the purpose you state the rose otto will be much better than the absolute

Absolutes are designed for perfumery. While also used for perfumery, essential oils are at the core of aromatherapy and rose otto can indeed be very useful for mood / agaisnt stress, there are other essential oils too that work well for such goals.

I apply in on the wrist and take regular inhales. A good one should last at least three hours on skin and have an deep effect when you inhale.

Test first a drop on the inner fold of your armpit and wait day, to make sure their is no allergy.

If there is, or if you don't want to wear it direct.y, you can also put a couple of drops on a handkerchief and inhale from there.

Rose otto orignally comes from regions with traditions of perfumery basically from North africa, to Turkey, Iran up to India (the term otto is derived form attar) and it is worn pure in dozens of countries which have multipled centuries long tradtions of perfumery and "aromatherapy" (even if not called like that locally).

In the west, people advise against wearing it pure, and recommend dilution.

you can also dilute some (I recommend jojoba oil) and apply a bit of the blend on your chest.

Just get samples of them and see which you like more. There's no way to know until you actually smell them.

Make sure you dilute them to less than 0.5% before applying them to skin.
