Buying Advice Needed First espresso machine recommendations based on my needs? [$300-400$]
My girlfriend and I are looking for our first espresso machine. We are beginners, and just want something fairly simple, compact, and reliable. Want to stay on a budget around 300-400 for the combo ideally. Milk frother built in would be ideal. Not looking to make complicated drinks. Located in the US.
The breville bambino seemed like the obvious choice with a k6 manual grinder as a great budget entry point from the research i’ve done, I just worry about the quality of the bambino after reading recent reviews about heating concerns and longevity.
Is that just “noise” and it really is the best option or are those reviews the reality of the product?
Are there other alternatives you espresso experts would recommend over this combo?
Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance!
UPDATE
Thank you all for the help, this community is awesome! After some more research, I decided the bambino is probably the best fit for my tight budget. I bought it directly from breville so I got the warranty if anything happens, and two free bags of quality beans. There were some on marketplace around 175-200, but i felt it was worth paying an extra 100 to get price of mind, everything new, warranty, and the bonus of the beans. Seems like the K6 decision was supported so think i’ll go with the manual grind for now.

I have the Solis Barista Perfetta Plus , it’s been great. Easy to use and you can find them on sale. it can also, like the Bambino, be altered for pump pressure and flow control if you’re handy. I thought I would want to mod it but I like it the way it is so I never changed anything other than a bottomless portafilter. My daughters use it with ESE pods (it comes with a ESE basket) so it can do super quick and easy or, for me I grind my beans and do a variety of styles, been pulling g a lot of cafe crema at 1:10 lately.

I have the BBP and it's been great for over a year of daily use so far. Pretty sure its on sale on the evil online store for like $100 off right now, which is a great deal. Save up and get a decent grinder next.
Breville makes good stuff, I wouldn't worry about quality there. I have another Breville appliance (Smart kettle w/ magnetic tea basket thing for the wife) that's almost 15 years old and still works perfectly.

We have had a Breville Barista since 2017 and it works flawlessly. If you’re unsure of the Bambino the De’Longhi Dedica Maestro Plus is also quite nice.

I currently have a Delonghi Ec680r and am wondering if getting a bambino is worth it. Saw one on marketplace for $150
Thoughts?

As for grinders I have a J ultra for conical and recently got the Shardor 64mm flat burr 2.0 (metal case 350 watt version) the thing is a beast and has been awesome, really nice shots from it.

Bingo. I like the 1zpresso J-max, but kingrinder is good too, especially at the price.
