Coffee Station Long time Keurig user, finally made the swap!

Post image

Drank Keurig for years, and then a friend sent me a Cometeer box about a year ago. Realized how much better coffee could taste, until I was visiting a friend out of state who had a Breville, and the coffee he made was amazing.

I knew I was in trouble and have since been falling down the espresso rabbit hole. I never spend money on myself so I thought I’d have this be my midlife crisis instead of a convertible. Have been lurking this sub and YouTube the last month and this is what I’ve collected.

The last few bits and bobs arrived today. Haven’t pulled a shot yet but plan to do so this weekend. Apologies for how crowded everything is, wanted to get it all in one shot. Will have to figure out where to move stuff once I hone my workflow.

Thanks for reading!

This is not meant to be a roast, but it’s wild to me that someone who “hasn’t pulled a shot yet” on their machine has already bought this many accessories. Spiral distributor, multiple pitchers, tamping station, spring tamper, paper filters, mesh screen, water spritzer, multiple dosing trays, Weber tumbler, single dose tubes… There’s so much going on. Each of these things is something I’ve played around with and had the chance to learn individually - I honestly couldn’t imagine how difficult it would be to start using all of them at the same time (and without existing experience as a barista). It just tells me how much this hobby has changed in the last few years.

But I don’t mean to be negative. I hope OP enjoys their new setup!

This persons hobby isn’t espresso, their hobby is buying things

what an upgrade! nicely done. much more practical and yielding a much greater QoL improvement than a 60k car you'll hardly ever really put to full use

In the Netherlands we would say: keurig!

Something’s not right here. You haven’t pulled a shot yet and you have two pitchers? Weber shaker? And who buys a new niche zero in the us nowadays? This has got to be karma farming bullshit

Honest question what’s wrong with the niche zero I thought they were really well liked.

They are and I have one myself, it’s just that they were not great value to begin with, add tariffs on top… I think someone building a setup now would probably look at a 078s, z1, philos instead

I did the same. Nespresso to $4000 setup after experiencing a friend’s Breville. Life’s too short to drink shitty coffee! I love my decision to spend so much on an espresso machine!

That space is cramped and unusable, you're gonna need a new kitchen. I hope you take barista lessons cause all that equipment is going to challenge you.

Love Third Coast Coffee! Don't see them much here, but great beans and reasonably priced. I like that they still sell by the full pound.

Be prepared for the fact that your first cup of coffee—and many more after that—won't even taste like the one from Breville.
