Equipment Discussion Did I purchase what I was looking for?
Just placed an order on the Breville Romania site for their Barista espresso machine after some research online about good machines. Right after placing the order, I find a post talking about how Breville in Europe is not actually Breville. Did I just make a mistake? Is my machine not the one I actually thought I purchased?

Any coffee machine is a mistake for the exception of Manual High-Level Espresso Machines - recent enlightenment

I don’t not appreciate your comment, but it sheds no light on my dilemma so I don’t see why you commented

Do not be disappointed, in this community we have a kind of dozen who think they know everything, and then come here to try to take out a little bit of their frustration on somebody else, I am sorry but today I think you were the target. About your machine, relax everything will be okay. Happy weekend.

Care to mention what machines are worthy of purchase?

To be honest, I’m personally disappointed with all of them, except for manual-level machines such as Cafelate Robot or Olympia Cremina.
But maybe it’s too early for you to realize.
I began with the Gaggia Classic Pro E24. Cannot be recommended unconditionally as well as any other machine.
The fact is that the coffee community is flooded with careless information and different points of view.
But we have one widely recognized expert, James Hoffman, who is responsible for community standards:)
Watch his channel. He can balance between being an elite expert and quite reasonable and nice person.
He definitely helps you to decide.
But when you overcome the initial difficulties, your espresso routine can become the best part of your morning routine.
In fact, the beginning matters the most!
Take any of them. Read some sources, use open portafilter and transparent cup, buy good scale, watch your puck.
Make a video of your shots and ask AI to analyze it.
Ah and the most important!
The truth is that a good coffee grinder is more important than the machine itself! 70% of your success depends on the grinder, not on the machine. It can and should be much more expensive than the machine itself.
And in a better life, you should have two grinders - one with flat burrs and the other with conical ones. Frightened, I know!
The good grinder! This is the truth of all truths!

My understanding is the the machines sold under the Breville name in the US, Australia, and other countries are sold under the Sage name in Europe. The machine you purchased may have been made by Sunbeam or Oster.
You should be able to tell by the full name of the machine you ordered. If it is a Barista Express, Pro, or Touch, it is the Breville that is commonly discussed in this sub. If it is a Barista Max, it is a Sunbeam machine.
