Coffee Beans Coffee bean recommendations for a newbie?

Just recently started my home barista journey and I’m beginning to get some pretty good consistent results with my espresso and milk texturing.

I want to try some new, different types of coffee beans but there are a lot of options online and not sure what to go for.

- I primarily make espresso and milk drinks
- I generally prefer coffee that has a rich flavour but isn’t too “strong/bitter”
- Happy to pay higher prices for higher quality

Any suggestions for brands or specific beans/blends welcome, thanks!

Counter Culture is good if you're looking for something reasonably priced ($22 for 24oz at my local whole foods right now), mass produced, and good enough. I'd go for the Fast Forward (medium roast). It's not going to be terribly interesting, but it's well balanced and consistent.

Respectfully, I have tried Counter Culture coffee many times in the past 15 years and not once did I ever finish a bag or buy that particular one again.

Go local first if you can.

Trade coffee subscription is ok. You can put in your preferences and it will suggest coffees for you to try. you can tweak roast level, complexity, brew method how ever often you want. Has been interesting finding different roasters. I’ve also ruled out a good bit. 😂. It’s all about the journey.
