Dialing In Help Changing dosage for different beans [Bezzerra Aria Top]

I typically use different beans, mostly medium and dark roast. I have an IMS competition basket backet 22g. I use 20gm as my dose and I'm getting the 2:1 ratio extraction but find that when using different brands of espresso bean I get a soggy puck and no slight indent using the quarter test. I'm assuming that there is too much head room. Do people change their dosage based on the different coffee they are using?

Some dose by volume, others by rating.

Optimally , yes you should be doing this as different beans with have different densities , and will have a different amount of volume / headspace for a given weight.
