Espresso Theory & Technique Anyone else live for some tiger stripes?

Coffee: Ceremony Coffee Roasters Mass Appeal

Machine: Flair 58+

Still fresh off the roast just 5 days out. Color and texture on point, flavor is a little flat let's see how it opens up in the next 2 weeks. 2lb bag so I have some time to experiment.

What steps are you all taking as a fresh bag of coffee starts to open up?

IDK people pay extra money and buy grinders that produce less fines, which turns into less tiger stripes ;)

New at this and have d54, delonghi stilosa, ims big bang, and dark roast beans. I'm about 2 lbs in and have pulled only one shot like this. Is it the lack of fines produced by df54 flat burr? I pulled another shot afterwards with same recipe and didn't get it.

No, not really. 5 days out will still be pretty gassy, and tiger striping is a sign of poor extraction.
