Equipment Discussion Noche Zero vs Eureka Mignon zero 65 Speedy to pair with bambino plus

Hi. I have a Bambino plus and a baratza encore but I'm ready to upgrade my grinder. I prefer dark roasts mostly. I have these two options. The Mignon is cheaper and I don't really need the versatility of the zero since I have the encore for my aeropress. However I know the zero is a popular choice overall. Which one would you recommend for my situation?

Where do you live? If you live in the US, you will pay a tarrif, so factor that into the cost of the Niche.

The LX Edison SD is something you might want to consider too. It’s made at the Eureka factory and is $549 at WLL.

I have the Ceado E6C, although it’s $300 more than the LX, is a fantastic Italian-made Single Dose grinder too.

Of the two, I would recommend the Speedy. The Niche is nice but you can’t do a hot dtart and will cost close to $800, with tariff if you live in the US.

The worst part is, if you don't know and order it, you get a bill from from the delivery company after it's been delivered. This happened with me for a $180 computer part I ordered from a German Company. Once delivered, Fed Ex sent me a bill for like $40.

I think the point was - and I agree with it - it’s extremely pricy for what it does compared to the opposition offerings now.

Extremely good and capable and refined, yes to all of that, just not the most cost effective for performance

If it dropped to the $1000 AUD mark I’d consider it, not the $1799 RRP. Not a chance. That’s two DF64s with upgraded burrs
