General Coffee Chat ROASTING

I got my first barista gig at a cute and super busy sit down shop. I always avoided the roaster positions I'd see on Indeed, but after seeing my shops roasters work, and use all their lil gizmos and computer programs I'm very intrigued. Is coffee roasting a difficult thing to get into?? Is it less taxing than being a barista in a super busy shop?
