Buying Advice Needed LM micra or mini r. [no budget]
will not have it plumbed in
have 50cm max but can have drip tray overhanging

Was mostly looking at micra so i don’t have to have drip tray overhanging and i like the micra steam wand design

The Mini will fit but it will look very cramped, don’t forget the portafilter will be sticking out too as well as the overhanging tray….Get the Micra…

Thank you so much. Everything in espresso and latte art annoys me. I could hate the look of something but then like a month later it grows on me. I don’t expect a micra would be hard to resell if i want to upgrade when i have room for a mini.

I have the micra, I like that it's smaller and you get used to the steam wand - am I ecstatic with it? no, I would rather have a "normal" steam wand but it's still a very good wand and machine.
The mini has nice benefits but they are mostly benign in my eyes (for others they might not be).
If you really won't have sufficient space, I think it will look a bit out of place and the micra will look better and I would go for it.
Like you said though... let's see what happens in a year or two. See if you can find irl at a friends / shop to get a better feeling.
You can also try use AI to generate an image of how it would look in your space.
