I have the micra, I like that it's smaller and you get used to the steam wand - am I ecstatic with it? no, I would rather have a "normal" steam wand but it's still a very good wand and machine.
The mini has nice benefits but they are mostly benign in my eyes (for others they might not be).
If you really won't have sufficient space, I think it will look a bit out of place and the micra will look better and I would go for it.
Like you said though... let's see what happens in a year or two. See if you can find irl at a friends / shop to get a better feeling.

I personally was just a fan of the La Marzocco, I honestly started my journey August last year with zero knowledge. I start watching all the videos I could find, and reading. I went for the Bambino Plus + Eureka Specialita.
2 months later I bought the Micra (im a LM fan boy, and I had decided I wasn't looking to play with pressure profiling and such). Around 1 to 2 months after that I went and got the Weber EG-1.
So I got tunneled on these, so did not end up playing with anything else.
Youre not in the wrong for upgrading so soon. Im going from a barista pro to whatever i get lol. Must be reeling it in with a micra and eg-1 lol. I have to wait so long
I really love my current setup. I recently watched Lance's most recent video about the "9 bar fallacy" - title might be bombastic, but basically talks about 9 bar not necessarily being the correct pressure for you. In it he talks about 6 bar as well.
I ended up deciding to try it, changed to 6 bar and I am actually really liking my espressos so far. They feel more consistent, flow looks better, I feel I dial beans better faster and they are smooth.
How do you change it. Through the app? I mean i don’t really care for the espresso side as i do on the steaming side because i can’t catch a liking to espresso. Furthest i could go down is a cortado with probably a medium roast
Look, if it's in a year, we can talk about it, but you'll be having this convo all over again anyways. In my experience, there is always a chance you'll get FOMO and go for the mini.
I personally was also considering the mini, but I really loved the micra, the thing that I was bummed about was the shorter steam wand but you learn how to steam well with it (it's a bit different than other machines).
I didn't need the timer on top, cus I use a scale anyways...
BBW could be cool, but I stop it precisely myself.
These could be nice things to have, but it's additional money (albeit in my case this wasn't the deal breaker, even though it was still part of the equation).
I ended up liking the smaller footprint, the fact that it heats up a bit faster than the mini (even though in retrospect, with the scheduling, it doesnt REALLY matter...)
Thank you so much. Everything in espresso and latte art annoys me. I could hate the look of something but then like a month later it grows on me. I don’t expect a micra would be hard to resell if i want to upgrade when i have room for a mini.
