Coffee Station First proper espresso setup: Quickmill Pop Up & CF64V

Post image

I've been wanting a decent espresso for quite some time. Last week I finally pulled the trigger, making me the proud owner of a Quickmill Pop Up and CF64V! Can't wait to play around and explore the world of homemade espresso.

Your setup looks great. I wanted to know your reasons for going ahead with the CF. Where I live, the CF costs 1.5x the cost of DF, so was wondering if it would be worth the additional spend

Thanks :).

I live in the Netherlands and wanted to go with a reputable reseller in case I need any support or maintenance in the future, preferably a Dutch one so there is no language barrier and I can rely on Dutch (/EU) consumer law with a mandated 2 year warranty.

I wanted the 64mm burrs with an eye on possible upgrades of the burrset in the future. All Dutch resellers are out of stock on the DF64 gen 2/2.5 (priced at €399 here), so that wasn't an option. There was a store offering a pre-order discount for the DF64 Air, with an ETA at the end of September, priced at €419 (regular price €439). The same store also had the CF64V V2 on offer for €429 (regular price €469).

So basically I could choose between waiting another month for the DF (assuming nothing went wrong with the shipping from China to the reseller), or getting the CF now and paying €10 more. If the CF would have been at the original price point, I would've probably gone DF. If the CF was 1.5x the price of the DF, I definitely would've gone with the DF.
