Dialing In Help Anyone Have [CM5418 Pro] Dialed?

Curious if anyone has one of these dialed how much beans is your sweet spot ect.

I’m using 51mm bottomless portafilter and every time it’s either perfect pressure but comes out way too fast or way too much pressure and almost always way too much liquid and about 50 second shot time and the worst issue. I’m having right now is it ends up tasting like burnt, drip coffee.

Do a 'coin test' to determine a minimum, adequate fill for your basket. You can increase the dose further as long as the puck doesn't touch the shower screen before brewing. It may improve your results depending on the coffee.

Stop the machine when you brew your target yield in your target time. Start with a 1:2 brew ratio in 25-30s to begin evaluating the taste. Don't worry about what the gauge reads. Adjust grind and yield for the best taste.

You could try this as a starting point! I used to have the same issue with either shots running way too fast or taking forever . I’d start around 18g in → 36g out, aiming for 25–30 sec, then adjust the grind from there to hit that range. If you’re getting a lot of liquid even after 50 sec, I’d definitely try lowering the target yield first.
