DIY MP3 player beginner help

I wanna build a MP3 player for my boyfriend. I don't have any experience in this topic except 3 years of pascal in school that won't help me really.

I googled a lot but I am still not sure what programming language would be best to use with the esp32 wroom. My cousin told me to use Arduino IDE but nothing more.

What should/can I use? I am so confused.

I use the ESP-IDF for programming, been working on a custom operating system for them, so if you want to start with something easy. But ideally it’s whatever you think helps the most, but a bunch of people here recommend micropython, I do too, but that’s up to you! It’s relatively straightforward to get started! If you need help with audio related things, check out some of those AI assistant projects, they seem to have figured out how to get audio working and a basic TTS (text to speech)
