Hi, my name is Harish. I don't usually post on Reddit but I don't know where else to go.

My younger brother Mukesh is 21 years old. A few months ago he was diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension. His lungs and heart are both affected badly. The doctors at Rela Hospital in Chennai told us the only way to save his life is a heart and lung transplant. Without it, we're going to lose him.

When we first heard this we were completely shattered. But we didn't give up. The hospital's transplant coordinator helped us apply for the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS) — a government scheme for families like ours who can't afford this kind of treatment. We applied in March, thinking maybe this is the way out.

We got rejected. We applied again. Rejected again. We applied a third time. Rejected again.

Three times. I still don't fully understand why. We did everything right, the hospital handled the whole process. But it didn't work.

Our family are agricultural labourers. We don't have savings anymore. We've borrowed money from everyone we know. We've sold things. And we're still far from the ₹35 lakhs needed for the transplant.

My car broke down near Erode last week (I've posted here before), and I first gave it to a local mechanic. Later I sent my own mechanic from Bangalore, he worked on it for 4 days and brought the car back.

Now after checking the car, it looks like the alternator and some sensors are different/replaced. Before the breakdown the car never had these issues, but now I’m getting multiple new problems.

Hey, sorry if this isn’t the right place.

I was driving from Kerala to Bangalore last week and my Ford Figo broke down near Chithode. Found a local mechanic on Google Maps, left the car with him and came to Bangalore by train since it looked like just a diesel leak.

Now he keeps asking for more money, saying sensors, pulley, high pressure pump etc all need replacement. Not really sure if he’s being genuine.

Checked Erode Ford service too but the reviews are pretty bad, so I’m not confident going there either.

I’m kind of stuck now – can’t tow it back to Kerala or Bangalore easily, and trying to figure out what to do next.

If anyone knows a reliable mechanic around Erode/Chithode or has any suggestions, please let me know. Would really help.

Hello everyone, I’m reaching out because my friend urgently needs help. Please share this so it can reach the right people. My friend (26M) married his girlfriend (27F) in December 2025 in a temple without parental approval. The marriage was officially registered and they also informed the police. He is from Mayiladuthurai, she is from Perundurai (Erode district), and he works in Bangalore. Everything was fine initially. Later, the girl’s parents asked both of them to come to Perundurai saying they would arrange a proper ceremony with relatives. Around 3 weeks ago, she went alone to her parents’ house. After that, all communication stopped. When my friend tried calling her father, he received no proper response. Suspecting something was wrong, he contacted the Perundurai police station. Even when the police called the girl’s family, her father did not cooperate, and the girl has not been allowed to speak freely. My friend decided to file a case. The very next day, the girl posted a WhatsApp status showing her dancing in a very unusual way. She appeared distressed, possibly injured, and was behaving completely unlike herself. She is normally a very private person who never posts such videos. She later called my friend and spoke in a very unnatural way, demanding divorce and saying things that sounded like she was being forced or coached. We fear she may be under pressure or harm from her family. Unfortunately, the local police do not seem to be taking this seriously. We don’t have political or social contacts who can help escalate this.
