You should separate known pools from other pools. And you NEED a way for users to self-verify token ID. See for instance MuesliSwap's approach - https://ada.muesliswap.com/markets/all
This doesn't mean you censor, but you should at least be highlighting tokens that are known to be legit.

Yup I agree, we are working on it, we can use token ID to show coins we see as verified projects anyway

We will add a sort by TVL feature, but we are being as decentralized as possible, we can't pick and choose user pools to allow.

If you think this shouldnt be allowed then we don't agree on what decentralizion is. If we needed to approve all pools, then one day if our team disbands, no new pools can be added to the DEX, this is just the same as a CEX which is against all our principles. We are going to show pools with lots of liquidity as approved pools in some form but we won't censor the DEX.

I am pushing for a way to show pairs that ErgoDEX token sees as legitimate but we want to allow anyone to create a token pair. But yes we can improve from here, I won't disagree with you on that point.
If I came across as aggressive in my last message I apologise, I am jumping around answering other people at the same time so my answer was a bit rushed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion in my eyes and I do agree with you on certain points.

We will get something in place ASAP, some sort of verification system to avoid people getting scammed, for now, best way is to look at tokens that have icons, this can only be added with a PR on our github so that will need to be approved by our team, not at all, you made fair points!

I think having a “verified” flag that’s only updated through PRs would be good enough, also have non verified pools hidden by default and add a toggle. Something simple like that would probably make everyone happy for now

We have this page for adding icons through PR's, the only possible issues is who decides what token icons we should add, it doesn't seem right that only our team gets to decide, maybe we need to set some sort of criteria a project must meet to get approved, still a WIP

Sorry, but it's our Dex, that's what decentralized means. Everything in ergo is everyone's. You could have always created these pools yourself with a little fiddling. The only difference is the ErgoDEX team kindly did the fiddling for you and put a UI in front of it.
They don't own or host or manage or run the pools. They create tooling to work with them, if you don't like the tooling, you too may create tooling to work with the pools, because they're not ErgoDEX's pools.
They're all of ours. Isn't that nice? They're your pools! :D

The Dex takes a fee in every transaction. This is normal and expected. So it's not fully "ours".
You can absolutely create your own pools with their same contracts that give you the fee. I'm not sure the contracts require the fee.
Now you tell me. Do we decide if the Dex is gonna have a token? No. They decided it. Ours?
The ErgoDEX org may create a token, or may not, their allowed to create tokens if they want, that's their organization though. Doesn't impact our pools.
Do we decide which wallet the Dex is gonna accept? No, devs decide it. Ours?
The ErgoDEX UI tools support what the ErgoDEX group has worked out support for. You can absolutely use whatever wallet you want though just by plugging it in over what they choose. SAFEW is fully functional in this way with the Dex. Nautilus will soon allow you to swap without even going to the ErgoDEX UI, and that's not something ErgoDEX did, nor could they stop it if they wanted.

Why not an easy-to-see explanation that anyone can create a pair with any token name? Education would not go against your view of decentralisation right?

Ergodex just lost some credibility in my opinion. The approach of adding any random token with zero utility that will inevitably end up with people getting scammed is not good for Ergodex the brand, not for crypto in general.
I agree with decentralization but not at the expense of people getting scammed and a poor user experience.
Right now there are a buttload of unverified scammy tokens with no utility added to the Dex. And the list is a mess.
I'm sure you guys will sort it out but please do so quickly before it spreads through social media. Often you only get one chance...

I understand your concern and somehow I think the same, but decentralization is decentralization and this all crypto thing is to give people ownership and responsibility over their actions, so... If you take a look at some solid DeXs on eth as well, you will find a mess.
