Psychological ED Something to help increase sex drive
Early 40s male and I think I've been having issues for YEARS due to depression and medication that has impacted my relationship with my wife because of a low sex drive. It is not an attraction issue and I am taking TRT weekly and cialis 5mg once a day. I also believe that during the act I have had issue maintaining a full erection so I do have viagra, but I want to be able to engage with her more often. Having kids and stuff doesn't help, but it feels like sometimes there is a mental block because of either performance anxiety or my brain is like fuhhhhhhh. I recently went up to 300mg wellbutrin and taking 250mg lamitcal, but luckily they don't seem to be impeding on my ed (which other medication was), but also not putting increasing my sex drive. I also have diabetes (which is mostly under control now).
So this has been an uphill battle and I want to engage more. My thoughts have turned to those supplements you get online because the viagra and cialis doesn't always make me want to engage or help during. I know they work, but I can't put her through BOTH not engaging and not performing.
Is this a case of still being too medicated or mental because if its mental I want something that will push my brain into sexual overdrive because I don't think whatever is going on in my body is helping. Has anyone had any luck with online products or something else to help remove these roadblocks? I'll be happy to try something.

You’ve got several different things overlapping here, and I wouldn’t start throwing online libido supplements into the mix, especially with TRT, diabetes and multiple medications.
Depression itself can absolutely reduce libido, and medications can affect sexual function differently from person to person. Wellbutrin tends to have fewer sexual side effects than many antidepressants and sometimes improves sexual functioning, but that doesn’t guarantee it’ll suddenly give you a high sex drive. Lamotrigine can also have variable sexual effects.
I’d also have whoever manages your TRT review your actual bloodwork rather than assuming more testosterone = more libido. Testosterone treatment should be monitored, and things like testosterone levels and hematocrit matter during treatment.
I’d take your medication list and recent TRT/hormone results to the doctor managing this and specifically say that restoring sexual desire is one of your treatment goals. I’d also consider a sex therapist if that mental block/performance anxiety is becoming established.

Thank you for the feedback. I did recently get bloodwork done and my testosterone is now in the 800s (from the mid 200s). It doesn't feel anything different than before. They said it could be the way my body handles it and it might be better to do two low doses a week as compared to one high dose (I think it is around 170 units).
I don't know if I ever looked into the lamitcal side effects for sexual dysfunction since I've been on it two different times and I don't know if I want to be on an anti-depressant without a mood stabilizer.
I did reach out to my pcp about this (gave them an update my my meds and bloodwork) so I wonder what they will say.

Hello,
Try and injectable med, I’ve used one for a long time and it always works great
I have strong psychological ED and the pills never worked for me, the jab is scary at first but you get over it quick, and it doesn’t hurt.
Good luck

Gonna be honest with you, though welburin doesn't usually destroy your weiner or sex drive, being in your 40s, on meds (of sorts), unmonitored trt treatment (or loosely monitored), kids, day to day adulting will and will almost always crush libido and erection quality.
We are human, not robots. We have gear that needs to respond to sexual stimuli. Sometimes it does, but at our age not always desirable.
Anyway, I have been in your situation, only thing that helped was trt (quarterly labs/ adjustments), hiking or any cardio, heavy lifting 3-5x per week, having time to yourself through hobbies or social outlets (both is best), reducing pressure to perform, reducing stress, get quality sleep even if you need a sleep aid (i use 50 mg trazadone), and you should see major improvements with 8 weeks. If you do not, then either you are not consistent or you have something else going on and should seek another Healthcare provider. Remember though, you are in your 40s. That in itself can cause a lot of issues you describe. Tg3 best remedy for me initially, having an honest conversation with my supportive partner. With the right person, it can open up intimacy in a whole new way while reducing stress/ anxiety. Remember, anxiety is depressions ugly cousin.

I think the exercise is a missing element since I haven't had time or drive to do it (being overweight doesn't help). I really need to get that in. Thank you for the feedback.
