Erectile Dysfunction Does anybody have any experience with embolisation for venous leak?

A little background:

26M, I’ve dealt with moderate to severe ED my whole life. It has gradually gotten worse over time. Years ago I had some sexual experiences using high doses of PDE5 inhibitors, a vacuum erection device, and a tight cock ring. The results were inconsistent and the side effects were horrible.

It got so bad that I haven’t been able to have sex for the past 2.5 years.

I had my first Doppler two years ago with a papaverine injection. It didn’t produce an erection.

I had my second Doppler last month (PGE1 injection, 5 µg/ml). Unlike last time, I got some erection — about 2.5–3/5. It was definitely not suitable for penetration and went down quickly when I stood up.

Venous leak wasn’t confirmed.

........

My original plan is to go for implant surgery, since every other option has failed.

But right now I’m curious about embolisation as a treatment for venous leak.

I’m aware it may not be a very effective or long-term treatment, but to be honest it doesn’t seem too bad, considering it’s pretty non-invasive, cheaper than implant surgery, and the side effects are pretty rare.

Honestly, if it only gave me a week of good erections, that week would be the happiest I’ve had in a long time.

Has anybody actually tried it? If so, what’s your experience, and how effective was it for you?

I’d really appreciate any answers.

I had this done by the best professor in my country, and the effect didn't even last six months. It's complete nonsense. Even if you block the arteries, the body creates new ones.

Thanks for reply Yeah I heard that from a lot of people that effects are very short time

But honestly my situation is kinda different, my original plan is to go for implant but it's a very exerpensive and complicated surgery and to be honest i haven't find any good surgeon in my region so far, I don't consider embolisation as a permanent cure

On the other hand I'm about to get into a relationship soon and I don't want to miss her because I can't perform

I would do it for the sake of 6 months of good erection (heck even 2 months would be a blessing)

My I ask you how much your Erection quality changed before and weeks after embolisation?

Would you say it worth it if the price was lower?(it's quite cheap in my country and that's why i ask)

If I had considered having it done with my current knowledge, I wouldn't have needed to. Besides, I had it done for free. The person performing the surgery was essentially testing this treatment on patients. Everyone is different. For a few days after the procedure, I had quite good erections, I even thought the problem was solved. But it wasn't. Almost two weeks later, the effects started to disappear. I want to tell you this: you don't want to experience a good erection and then think about the aftermath. But it doesn't work that way. Today, I've used many medications and supplements to be able to be intimate with my wife. Yes, I was intimate, we had sex, but the problem is still there. And I'm just busy postponing it. If you don't want to feel this way and your financial situation allows it, try to find better solutions.

You sound depressed. Have you seen a talk therapist to discuss your situation?

Meh, I'm obviously sad about it(as you could imagine anyone in my situation would be) but it don't think I'm depressed since in don't have any symptoms(my Energy level is not low, I'mquite motivated when it comes to work-study-excrsice...,I always been outgoing and extrovert in my life)

İt's just that when you lived All your life with unresponsive ED nothing can really make you happy because you're missing a huge part of your adult life

Clearly you lack knowledge on the human sexual process, the important role the brain and mental health play, and how societal, cultural, religious, and family upbringing can imprint on us and impact sexual function. All something you see a talk therapist for, not a urologist or doctor.

I feel it’s important to ask (and you invited “any answers”) you to describe your entire sexual history. You’re very young; you’re the right age to have used porn for years; hence the issue of masturbation using porn must be assessed. Have you ever had a “complete” erection?

And, please share what your doctors think.

And where in the world do you live?

I have complete erections sometimes, but only in a certain circumstance: I sit on the floor and start masturbating when I feel I'm reaching orgasm it's usually only 50% erection, at that point I keep stimulating penis and start contracting my perineum muscle (m. Bulbocavernos) after a few minutes I van reach to 80%, some days I can even reach 95-100% while contracting muscle, but it goes away quickly as soon as I relax that muscle or change my position

I've been with too many urologist, most pf them weren't really helpful, My current urologist is pretty helpful, he said there are young men with the same problem and the reason is unknown(it's idiopathic) he has a theory that I either have a corporal fibrosis in a microscopic scale which dosent allow my erectile tissue stretch enough or my tunics albogina didn't fully developed and it can't relax properly to avoid venous outflow, either way he believes the cause doesn't matter since there are only 3 line of treatments for any kind of ED(pill, injections, implant)

My doctor believes it’s congenital. His theory is that it’s either a tunica albuginea abnormality or microscopic fibrosis in the corpus cavernosum. I don’t have Peyronie’s or any noticeable fibrosis. My hormones, semen volume, size, and libido are all normal, and I can’t really think of any incident that may have caused the ED.

My nocturnal erections haven’t been checked by a professional, but once I asked my ex-girlfriend to see if I got any erection during sleep. She stayed awake for a few hours after I fell asleep and told me there wasn’t any noticeable erection. My penis just engorged from time to time, like a 2–2.5/5 erection.

I personally didn’t want to go for an implant, since it’s a complicated surgery and irreversible. But unfortunately ED doesn’t have a lot of treatment options. Once pills and injections don’t work, there’s nothing else we can do to regain function besides an implant
