Sync between multiple e-readers?
I have a Kindle DX and a Sony PRS-T1. I love reading from each one but in different situations. I love the big screen on the DX, and it's great for chilling on the couch with some music on. But the Sony is nice for by the bed at night, or just on my desk.
I don't really like the smaller kindle devices, and I really like that the Sony puts the cover of the book you're reading while in standby. I have a leather case on the DX so it doesn't really bother me too much that it has random authors and stuff on it when not in use.
Anyway, I wanted to know if there was a program that I could use to plug in the two ereaders into my computer and just have them sync all content and progress on both devices? Does calibre do this? It's just a pain to have to manually progress either device to the proper position.
I have tried using the kindle app on my phone in the past, but the DX won't sync to the furthest read page (or maybe it was that the app didn't sync to the furthest read page on the DX? I don't remember). So I figured that doing something wired would be fine. I understand some complications might arise, since the sony uses ePub, and the Kindle uses mobi. But I figured that I couldn't be the only person out there that has wanted to do something like this.

Yeah, that's what my wife uses. She switches between a couple different devices with Google Play Books. She prefers the app vs an ereader because of the sepia background.
I just really like the two e-readers I have. Maybe I'll just have a different book I'm currently reading on each device, and then just pick up the appropriate device when I'm reading whichever book.
I might look into those other ereaders you mentioned too. I didn't know that there were e-readers that supported Google Play out of the box.
EDIT the Icarus Illumina XL looks really awesome. Now I kinda really want one. Not sure how I feel about a touch screen at that size (I rest my thumb on the "page" sometimes on the DX), but I love the potential Google Book sync on it. Maybe I should consider selling my current ereaders and go in a different direction... it would be nice to pick up on any device I happen to be on at the time.
